Even though in-person theatre and dance are back in full swing, in the name of accessibility we’re continuing to round up performances to watch online from the comfort of home. Our carefully curated list spotlights the five best options to stream this weekend, Friday, September 15 to Sunday, September 17, for free or at low cost.

Philadelphia Fringe Festival

Various shows streaming until September 24 at various prices, including FREE

Since 1997, the Philly Fringe has showcased hundreds of indie performing artists at venues throughout the city. For those who cannot attend in person, the fest is offering 10 shows to watch online, including a virtual tour of Philadelphia, a solo musical about anti-Semitism and a mythic cabaret. Some cost money, others are free; some are available on demand, others have specific start times. Browse the streaming options to see what piques your interest.

Hulu: Theater Camp

The critically acclaimed comedy Theater Camp is now available to stream on Hulu. Dear Evan Hansen alums and fiancés Ben Platt and Noah Galvin are behind this affectionate mockumentary about the oddball staff at a rundown theatre camp who band together to put on a show and save the embattled program. Molly Gordon cowrote, costars and co-directs this must-see for musical lovers.

Pluto: Camp

Twenty years before Theater Camp there was Camp, Todd Graff’s heartwarming love letter to musical theatre kids inspired by his experiences at Stagedoor Manor. With a sweet story that explores first love, queerness and self-acceptance, a fresh-faced cast that includes future stars Robin De Jesús and Anna Kendrick, and classic show tunes by Stephen Sondheim juxtaposed against original songs by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Trask, this movie is an undersung classic. Bonus: After you watch, check out the recent Camp cast reunion on Stars in the House.
