Our carefully curated list spotlights the five best options to stream this weekend, Friday, July 28 to Sunday, July 30, for free or at low cost.

Gingold Theatrical Group: Candida

Last fall, master George Bernard Shaw interpreter David Staller and his Gingold Theatrical Group presented an effervescent mounting of the playwright’s romantic comedy Candida and now you can watch a recording at home. Penned in response to Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, it’s the tale of Reverend James Morell and his wife Candida, a well-to-do couple whose lives are upended when they take a radical young poet into their home. Reset from London 1894 to Harlem 1929, this is multicultural mounting of a masterpiece.
