Even though in-person theatre and dance are back in full swing, in the name of accessibility we’re continuing to round up performances to watch online from the comfort of home. Our carefully curated list spotlights the five best options to stream this weekend, Friday, December 15 to Sunday, December 17, for free or at low cost.

Lookingglass Theatre Company: Lookingglass Alice
Chicago’s lauded Lookingglass Theatre Company may be on pause, but one of the troupe’s most beloved productions, Lookingglass Alice, is coming to PBS. A thrilling, 90-minute reinvention of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, this circus-and-dance infused take was adapted and directed by David Catlin and recorded live on stage last year. The PBS broadcast will be accompanied by a short doc about the company that includes its famous cofounder, David Schwimmer.

Season of Light: Christmas with The Tabernacle Choir
This beloved annual tradition returns to PBS for the holidays. Miss Saigon Tony winner Lea Salonga and stage and screen star Sir David Suchet join the 500-member Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square for this seasonal celebration featuring classic Christmas carols, hymns and an uplifting story of service.

National Theatre at Home: The Corn is Green
In 2020, London’s lauded National Theatre launched its own streaming service featuring professional stage captures of its productions. While you can buy a subscription, shows are also available to rent individually. New to the roster is its 2022 revival of The Corn Is Green, Emlyn Williams’ 1938 semi-autobiographical play about an English teacher helping local Welsh miners learn how to read and write. Dominic Cooke helmed this acclaimed staging and Nicola Walker plays the determined instructor. A 72-hour rental costs $10 and captions are available.
